Work

Upon arrival at Radio Flyer, interns are given meaningful work assignments that have a direct impact on the business. Interns set a personal development goal as well as professional development goals with their managers on their first day. These goals allow interns to drive their own career development and experiences while at Radio Flyer. We give interns the autonomy to create and innovate, and we embrace mistakes as learning opportunities.

Grow

We believe individual growth fuels company growth. Therefore, intern growth is not only encouraged, it is the expectation! We have both formal and informal programs designed to mentor our interns and help them advance their personal and professional journeys from good to GREAT! Our Wagon U Professional Development series is a key part of onboarding for our intern program. These courses connect interns with our brand, provide a deeper understanding of our business, and create an opportunity for interns to ask questions directly to our senior leaders (who serve as the primary Wagon U faculty).

Play

Our FUNomenal™ summer program allows interns to spend time with Flyers and connect on a deeper level. Interns can choose to participate in Committee-led events throughout the summer, such as our annual Wellness Active Challenge and our company-wide social hours. Additionally, interns have multiple networking opportunities with our Senior Leaders at events such as our Intern Welcome Breakfast and Intern Social Hours (often themed!).

Will my internship be paid?
Yes! All internship positions are paid positions.
How long is the intern program?
Each internship is about 12 weeks in length, dependent on the student's University summer schedules.
Does Radio Flyer offer relocation assistance for internships?
Yes, Radio Flyer supports students who are relocating from outside of the general Chicagoland area for their internships.
What does a day in the life of a Flyer look like?
If you ask any of our past interns, they will tell you that no day is ever the same! In between working on your project goals, you would have the opportunity to participate in Team brainstorms, attend company meetings led by our Senior Leadership Team, collaborate with Flyers outside of your department, and socialize with fellow Interns and Flyers at lunch in our Radio Café and big backyard.
Will my internship lead to a full-time opportunity?
We are passionate about internal growth and development, and a quarter of our workforce came to us through our intern program. The opportunity for full-time conversion is dependent on a strong match with the role and the current business need.
What does the application and interview process look like?
We receive all applications directly through our website and review each by hand. Our recruiting team will reach out to further discuss application materials if we find a relevant match in skillset and experience. Our typical interview process consists of a series of phone and in-person or video interviews.
